The American School Explained (ASE) websites for secondary and elementary schools use 10 videos narrated in 11 languages with more planned. They help demystify our school system for immigrant families. Also included is a detailed, translated calendar that is customized for each school Parents can access their school’s websites at any time. These narrated videos are helpful to parents who come from an oral tradition and don’t read in their first language.
ASE website videos are useful at conferences, welcome centers, orientations, and parent meetings. They describe extracurricular and other opportunities for students like: sports, music, clubs, and other programs that colleges look for on applications.
Cultural Connections Inc. (501c3) works to help diverse cultures within communities integrate. We are working to provide the ASE website to Minnesota schools.
